What this tool does
Resizes PNG, JPEG and WebP images. Give one side and the other follows the original proportions; give both and choose whether the image fits inside that box or stretches to fill it exactly. Every result tells you the size it actually produced — with “fit inside”, that is usually not the box you typed, and you should see the real number.
Exact proportions, honest enlargements
The aspect ratio is computed with exact integer arithmetic and rounded once, so a resize never drifts a pixel off the original proportions — and a side that would round down to zero is kept at one, because a zero-pixel image is not an image. If you ask for a size bigger than the original, it works, and we say so plainly: the extra pixels are interpolated, not recovered. Nothing can add detail a camera never captured, whatever other sites call it. As always, the page is static and keeps working offline, verified by our automated tests on every release.
