What this tool does
Stamps text across every page — DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, a client's name — at the angle, colour and opacity you choose, or across a page range. The size adapts to each page, so a document that mixes portrait, landscape and sideways pages gets a mark that is centred and readable on every one of them, rather than page one's measurements copied everywhere.
What a watermark is, honestly
A watermark is a deterrent, not protection. It is drawn on top of the page, and anyone with a PDF editor can take it off again. Use it to mark a draft or discourage casual reuse — not to secure a document, whatever other sites imply. And the other half of that honesty: we will never build the tool that removes someone else's watermark. That is written into this project's rules and enforced by a test, not by good intentions. As always, the page is static and keeps working offline, verified by our automated tests on every release.
