What this tool does
Renders each page of a PDF to a PNG image — one file per page, or a page range — at the resolution you pick. Useful when you need a page in a slide, a preview thumbnail, or somewhere that will not take a PDF.
A rendered page is a picture, not a document
This is the one thing worth understanding before you use it, because it is the opposite of every other PDF tool here. A PDF keeps its text as text — you can select it, search it, copy it, and the file stays small. Rendering turns all of that into flat pixels. The words become part of an image; they can no longer be selected or searched, and the PNG is usually far larger than the PDF it came from. That is exactly what you want for pasting a page into a design, and exactly what you do not want if you were hoping to keep a real document. So: pick your resolution knowing higher means bigger, and keep the original PDF if the text still matters.
Fonts the PDF did not carry with it
Most PDFs embed their fonts, and those render faithfully. A PDF that relies on the reader already having a font — some machine-generated files do — may show substituted glyphs, the same honest limit our SVG renderer has. As always, the page is static and keeps working offline once the renderer has loaded, verified by our automated tests on every release.
